Does my computer need to be left on ?
A. No, the cameras we supply are known as IP Cameras, which
connect directly to your router (LiveBox etc) via either a wireless
or wired connection.
Q. Are these just cheap 'WebCams' ?
A. No, WebCams require a permanent connection to a
computer.
Q. Why not use 'WebCams' ?
A. In the event of a power cut the computer wouldn't
automatically restart, whereas a router & IP camera would.
Q. Can you monitor the system.
A. We can automatically monitor the operation of the
installation & send e-mail notification of a failure but not
what is being captured by the cameras for privacy reasons.
Q. Do I need an ADSL/Broadband
connection
A. Yes
Q. Can I control the camera remotely
A. Yes, depending upon the camera, you can pan & tilt
& zoom the camera.
Q. Can I record what I see remotely.
A. Yes, either a movie or a still image
Q. How does all this cost.
A. From about 80 € or a single wired camera up to
about 300 € for a controllable camera with night viewing
capability
